Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP)

Children in Devon are best safeguarded when key agencies work together effectively. The Devon Children and Families Partnership is designed to help ensure that this happens.

Ensuring children and families can get the right support, in the right place at the right time

Safeguarding Arrangements for Children and Young People in Devon – Our response to Working Together 2018

In response to Working Together to Safeguarding Children (July 2018) your safeguarding partners; Devon County Council, NEW Devon CCG and South Devon & Torbay CCG and Devon & Cornwall Police, have agreed and published our local Safeguarding Arrangements for Children and Young People in Devon.  These arrangements detail:

  • arrangements for the safeguarding partners to work together to identify and respond to the needs of children in the area;
  • arrangements for commissioning and publishing local child safeguarding practice review; and
  • arrangements for independent scrutiny of the effectiveness of the arrangements.

Partnership Restructure

Our ambition to improve outcomes for children by making multi-agency working more effective, has prompted the restructure of our children’s partnership arrangements. The Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP) was established on the 1st July 2017.  It merges the functions of the Devon Safeguarding Children Board (DSCB) and the Children, Young People and Families Alliance (Alliance).
